There are days when I often agonize over whether or not to buy a burrito. Lord knows I can't rationalize buying a beverage at a bodega. Pick up some shampoo? I'll find it somewhere. Buy a new T-shirt? Not since I was in high school. I've taken the F Bus between San Francisco and Berkeley with a fake bus pass, rather than the quicker and more convenient BART, for the last six years. Public transportation just ain't worth my money. I'm thirfty, to be understated. But money piles up quickly and when I decide I want something big, I have to get it. First was the track bike. I didn't go all out but I'm more than satisfied with my new whip. Black as night, but fast as light. The day I put the finishing touches on her, sliding the black grips into place, I decided I needed a digital SLR camera. I rode my new bike to check one out and left with a like new Canon 20D. My pockets are pretty empty these days, and I definitely won't be buying many burritos, but I've got some new toys to distract me from the hunger pangs. Call me up and we'll ride. Or I can make your photo. It's weird how nice this device makes everything look. And it's weird how I rationalize spending. But seriously, the bike is way smoother and the photos are way better. And a burrito only lasts a couple of minutes anyway.
