Out for Blood

Last week we made an ambitious attempt to see the Blood Moon down at the beach. We showed up on time but the moon didn’t. We were fogged out, freezing, and blown every which way. The crew rigged up a teepee for some temporary shelter. We listened to “Pink Moon” and “Moondance” and every other song with “moon” in the title. Even though we were eclipsed out, there was still something special to being on the beach that night, somewhere different at a different hour at a different time of year. There are three more blood moons to come in the next year and a half. We’ll catch at least one.

SXSW for Vans. Warpaint and Wet were my favorites. Charles Bradley put on a good show.
