i sang her songs til she couldnt talk.
i let the beat of em slowly take her mind off.
it was a ringing i held up high.
we were the oceans floor,
we held it all.
but we couldnt hide away all the things we lost.
they sunk into us.
its a low lying tide comin back,
like a red tambourine shakes to crash
shakin trees of their leaves,
shakin needles our their reach,
holds up the horizon lines for us.
we wanted perfect but we didnt know why,
or how to get there.
im sorry i thanked you.
i wont bury the truth,
tremble with out you,
i can carry us through.
a week without water wont make it stop comin down,
your feet in the air leaves your hands on the ground,
a sleepy girls stare without wanting an answer,
makes the silence carry and the leaves turn faster.

still the same phone ,still the same camera, still the same glasses, still the same comb, still the same condoms
There you stood
Everybody watched you play
I just turned and walked away
I had nothing left to say
‘Cause you’re still the same
You’re still the same
Moving game to game
Some things never change
You’re still the same
- Still the Same by Bob Seger
